Kids kitchen extension shelves

Hi there, Thanks for visiting the blog. I hope to share with you many of the woodwork pieces we do.

Here's our latest work:

This was made for our friend who was given a kids toy kitchen, and wanted to 'renovate' the toy kitchen to extend the shelves to hold more toys.
She didn't want something that ends up just being a kids toy - she wanted to use it longer (as with all of us I think). So, we decided to make it so that it can be joined together to become a bookshelf!
This was, of course, made to the kids kitchen height - it's a custom made furniture. :)

We stained this with "shibugaki" which is fermented fuji fruit (persimmon).
Apparantly it's good to keep the bugs away. It sure does give it a good colour - but it doesn't smell so good.  :P

Thanks for visiting!
